How I read a forecast for shelf clouds, and why I shoot from the car door.
Shelf clouds give you about ten minutes. You see the wall coming, you choose a foreground, and you shoot wide before the rain arrives.
I watch pressure charts the night before and drive to open, flat ground with a clean horizon. Fields of barley are perfect.
